An important contribution for the support and ratifi cation of the United States Constitution was published in a series of 85 articles in The Independent Journal and The New York Packet. Referred to by the name The Federalist or The New Constitution, they were later called The Federalist Papers. Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay penned the papers. These articles provided a strategic justification for safe and secure political progress.

When we speak of Madison’s Constitution, we do so with respect, realizing and appreciating United States law and our political scientific civic system. As a written account of the structure and role of our government, it has served us extraordinarily well allowing for the safety and protection of our democratic principles. The United States Constitution is the shortest and oldest written constitution still in use by any nation in the world.
